Two People Injured In Route 1 Crash

Fire crews say two people were taken to the hospital after a multi-vehicle crash on Route 1 westbound in Rothesay.

Emergency crews were called to the scene at the Fox Farm Road overpass just after 12 p.m. Tuesday.

Shawn White, a division chief with the Kennebecasis Valley Fire Department, said three vehicles were involved in the collision.

White said two people were trapped in one of the vehicles, including one person who was briefly unconscious.

He said both of them were extricated from the vehicle and taken to the hospital with unknown injuries.

White said the westbound lanes of the highway were closed for about an hour.
