Corporate Research Associates releasing the results of a poll on what New Brunswickers think of the new forestry plan.
This poll commissioned by JD Irving indicates out of 400 New Brunswickers surveyed, citizens are slightly more supportive of the plan, which would see a drastic increase in allowable clear-cutting on Crown Land.
On the other hand, a telephone survey of 525 New Brunswickers conducted by the University of New Brunswick showed a majority of citizens oppose the Crown Forest Strategy at 61-percent with only 20-percent saying they were supportive.
According to JDI’s own poll 17-percent of New Brunswickers completely disagree with the idea that the plan is in the best interest of the province, compared to 11-percent who strongly agree it’s in our best interest.
