Two Taken To Hospital After Tractor-Trailer Rollover

Two people suffered non-life threatening injuries after a weekend tractor-trailer rollover in the Welsford area.

Emergency crews were called to the scene along Route 7 southbound near kilometre marker 65 just before 3 p.m. Saturday.

Glenn Rich, deputy chief of the Welsford Volunteer Fire Department, said a truck carrying empty beer cans had gone down an embankment and landed on its side.

Rich said the driver and passenger managed to make it out of the truck on their own.

They were taken to the hospital by ambulance and later released, he said.

Rich said the southbound lanes of the highway were closed for several hours so tow trucks could remove the truck.
