It was a successful swim for about 50 people who took on the waters of the Northumberland Strait on Sunday.
The Big Swim saw swimmers cross the strait and raise more than $300, 000 dollars for the charity.
Two world records were also set during the event.
Big Swim Communications Officer Tracy Ashley says the conditions were more favourable than last year. “Last year, we had bright sunny, blue skies, and we didn’t have rain, but out on the water it was a little rougher.”
Ashley says the money raised will help send kids to Brigadoon Village Children’s Camp, “It is going to help about 300 kids get to camp. It allows children who have chronic illnesses get the camp experience that they normally wouldn’t.”
Moncton’s Emily Mallard crossed the strait in about six hours.
Stewart Martens of Washington, D-C made it first in less than three and a half hours, breaking his own record time.
