Four UNB Fredericton Engineering students have come up with a way to convert that old gas guzzler vehicle of yours into an electric car and they will be showing off the skills at an event on Thursday.
One of the students is Nick Dowling and we asked him where they came up with such an idea.
“We’ve all really liked electric cars, I think we’ve all really wanted an electric car. Right now it is way our of our price range and if we wanted a Tesla we would have to wait a long time to get it. We just started last year went out and bought ourself a car with an engine that was not working and decided to make our own.”
The four students, Nick Dowling, Sam Poirier, Issac Barkhouse and Michael Barnhill can take all of the components needed to run an electric car and have them all in one black box and they can do a full conversion in one day.
They will have their electric vehicle parked out front of the Fredericton Convention Centre on Thursday for the UNB Engineering Design Symposium kick off.
Students at UNB will showcase their new tech to the public at the Fredericton Convention Centre on April 5. | Full story: https://t.co/WZYgqkVZj6 pic.twitter.com/h9wmXR2lxY
