UPDATE: Convicted armed robber arrested, say police

Saint John police say a convicted armed robber wanted on a Canada-wide warrant has been arrested.

The 47-year-old man was accused of breaching the conditions of his statutory release.

He allegedly failed to return to the community correctional centre in Saint John as directed.

Police asked for the public’s help to locate the accused on Wednesday morning.

A spokesperson confirmed he was arrested by patrol officers over the noon hour.

The man was serving a sentence of more than eight-and-a-half years for a number of charges, including:

  • Armed Robbery (x3)
  • Disguise with intent (x3)
  • Possessing a weapon for a dangerous purpose (x2)
  • Assault causing bodily harm
  • Failing to comply with a probation order (x2)
