UPDATE: Emergency Responders Remain In East Saint John

Emergency crews remain at the scene after a natural gas line was cut in East Saint John.

The call came just after 3pm about the ruptured line on Jean Street where crews were doing some digging.

Platoon Chief Brian Wilson tells us they think they ruptured a line which is part of a distribution system that services the larger buildings in the area.

Wilson says Enbridge Gas and other first responders are on scene doing some monitoring to see what a safe approach will be.

Some homes in the area have been evacuated.
