UPDATE: Planned Saint Andrews power outage postponed

A planned power outage in the Saint Andrews area on Thursday night has been postponed.

The outage was supposed to take place in the area between 9 p.m. Thursday and 3 a.m. Friday.

NB Power noted it is a “Priority 1” issue that needed to be addressed, according to a social media post from the town.

The utility planned to upgrade facilities to reduce the risk of future animal-related outages.

“If the repairs are not completed shortly, there could be more damage and that could lead to an unplanned outage that could take days to repair versus the [scheduled] time noted,” said the post.

No reason was given for the postponement or when the planned outage will now take place.
