UPDATE: Police arrest convicted thief wanted on warrant

Saint John police say a convicted thief wanted on a Canada-wide warrant is back in custody.

Nathan Pomeroy was arrested at a residence in the city’s north end on Friday evening.

A warrant was issued in March after he was accused of breaching the conditions of his day parole.

The 42-year-old man was living at a community correctional centre in Saint John.

Pomeroy is serving a 31-month sentence for 14 counts of theft under $5,000, 14 counts of failing to comply with probation, assault, obstructing a public/peace officer, and an offence under the Motor Vehicle Act.
