Schools in the Anglophone East District have moved from Lockdown to Hold and Secure mode.
That’s according to District Spokesperson Stephanie Patterson.
In an email, Patterson says Hold and Secure means “movement is restricted to inside the school and the exterior doors will remain locked.”
Superintendent Gregg Ingersoll left a message for parents, saying the threat was received at the District office, threatening action against an unidentified school.
“The police are here in my own office and are at a few of our schools in the school district currently and will continue to be working on this until the end of the school day today, so I just want to let parents know that that’s happening,” says Ingersoll. “So if you go to the school to get your child the door will be locked, but the door will be released at the regular time and will be arriving home on the buses or walking home however they get home.”

A message to parents from Queen Elizabeth principal Chantal Frenette says it’s business as usual in the school.
“Everyone inside the school is safe and most are unaware of what is happening, and the students will be leaving the schools after the buses are here and ready to leave,” says Frenette.
RCMP Media Relations spokesperson Jullie Rogers-Marsh says they were made aware of the threats early this afternoon and are investigating.
She was unable to comment about specific details of the investigation or about the nature of the threat.
