UPDATE: Strong Winds Cause Problems In Saint John

High winds are causing problems for many today.

Saint John Energy is reporting an outage on Sandy Point Road. We hear that has left the campus of UNB Saint John in the dark.

UPDATE: Power was restored just before 11am.

The eastbound lanes of the causeway are closed as water is splashing up on the road.

Red Head road is closed to traffic at the break water until further notice.

Between high tide and strong winds, water, rocks and other debris are covering the road.

Motorists have an alternative route to access or leave Redhead Road using Bayside Drive to Hewitt Road to Redhead Road.

City police asking the public to avoid Saint’s Rest Beach.
