A fire at an uptown Saint John apartment building has been deemed suspicious, according to police.
Fire crews were called to a three-storey building at Sewell and Coburg streets around 11 a.m. Monday.
Officials with the Canadian Red Cross said it was the third fire at that building in recent weeks.
“No injuries were reported; however, there was significant damage to the building and residents were displaced,” police said in a news release Wednesday.
Volunteers from the Red Cross arranged emergency lodging and purchases for all 24 people living in the building.

The fire was one of two major blazes that the Saint John Fire Department responded to on Monday.
Around 5 p.m., fire crews
raced to a four-unit building on MacLaren Boulevard in the north end.
A total of 23 people living in the two-storey building were forced to leave their homes.
The Red Cross said it arranged emergency lodging and meals for a family of eight, a family of seven, a family of six, and an adult couple.
Officials said the fire was contained to one unit but caused significant water damage in other areas of the building.
No injuries were reported from either fire.
