Rain last night and this morning has helped fire crews contain the wilfire burning south of Riverview.
The town says crews will continue to look for hot spots and hose them down for the next several hours.
20 firefighters from Riverview and Hillsborough battled the blaze and fire departments from Moncton and Salisbury were on standby.
The area remains a working fire scene and residents are advised to keep a safe distance.
The fire was burning roughly 3km south of town limits west of Pine Glen Road.
Dobson Trail is closed until further notice.
