An apartment fire on Saint John’s East side leaving 11 people, including at least two children, temporarily homeless.
Platoon Chief Eric Garland tells us first-arriving crews heading into an apartment on the second floor encountered heavy fire that had already spread to the third floor on 355 Coldbrook Crescent and was making its way to the roofline. He says the building has sustained some major damage, in particular to the second and third floor along with the roof.
Nobody was hurt and the Canadian Red Cross is helping seven people with emergency aid while four other tenants made their own arrangements.
There is no word on what caused the blaze.
