The MLA for Quispamsis now has a brand new title.
Blaine Higgs has been sworn in as the 34th premier of New Brunswick.
Higgs told all MLAs in the legislature they can help put the province back on to the path of success.
“You will have an unprecedented say in shaping the future of this province, you will have real power that will be shared and not simply held by members of the cabinet. We must work together”.
“Today it has been entrusted upon us for the next chapter in New Brunswick’s story. I humbly ask each and every one of you in meeting that responsibility”.
“I may speak frankly in the days ahead about our challenges, getting our fiscal house in order restarting our private sector economy, delivering on core services like health and education and giving every New Brunswicker a pass to success.”
Higgs also told the house he was “so proud” to have his 98-year-old mother there to watch him become premier.
