UPDATED—MLA Jody Carr Is Not Re-Offering In September’s Election

A long time MLA who has served in government and opposition is calling it a day, for now.

Jody Carr has decided not to re-offer in the September election after 19 years in provincial politics.

We asked Carr if it was a tough decision to make, he said when he went to hit the send button on his email making his announcement, he hesitated and wondered if it was the right decision.

Upon speaking with his wife and children he knew it was and hit the button.

Carr is finishing his term as MLA and completing a Law degree from the University of New Brunswick in April and then will be looking to join the private sector, but he doesn’t rule out a return to politics down the road.

Carr served six years in the legislature with his twin brother Jack, and then his older brother Jeff who was elected after Jack decided not to run in his riding in 2014. Carr is urging anyone who wants to help the province to do so either by running for office, or through, communtiy, church and school.
