More than 100 people were evacuated from two Saint John apartment buildings early Tuesday after high winds caused roof damage.
The roof of a three-story complex at 57 Ocean Court on the west side was damaged around 1 a.m. Tuesday.
The Canadian Red Cross is providing assistance to 13 people living in the 12-unit building. Other tenants arranged to stay with relatives or friends.
Around 3 a.m. Tuesday, high winds blew off part of the roof off a six-storey building at 301 Heather Way in east Saint John.
Police officers and firefighters evacuated the 78-unit building and Saint John Transit provided shelter for more than 100 people, who were then taken to a temporary reception centre at Simonds High School.

The Red Cross says it has arranged emergency lodging for 36 tenants while others have made their own arrangements.
The tenants are not being allowed back in the building until the electrical system has been inspected.
Evacuated tenants from either building who have not registered with the Red Cross are asked to call 1-800-222-9597.
No injuries were reported in either incident, officials said.
