We say goodbye to daylight savings time at 2 a.m. Sunday and that means we gain an hour of sleep, but the general manager of Good Life Fitness in McAllister Place says you should use that hour to start an exercise program.
Ashley Mathias says exercising will also help you deal with any seasonal affective disorder issues you may have from fewer daylight hours.
Mathias says you don’t have to go to the gym to exercise, you can do so in your own home by setting up exercise stations and even using soup cans as weights if you have to.
Mathias says exercising even for 30 minutes in the morning this week will really help your body reset the circadian rhythms which can disrupt your sleep pattern for that first week after a time change.
