A vacant building that was the scene of a major fire on Wednesday morning has been torn down.
The blaze was called in shortly before 6:30 and Saint John Fire crews spent several hours fighting the fire and dealing with the numerous hot spots. The decision was made later in the day to tear down the structure because it was in danger of collapsing on its own. Fire Chief Kevin Clifford says the blaze appears to have been deliberately set.
Here is what remains of that building.
