Vehicle Check Leads To Drug Seizure

Saint John police say two people are facing charges after officers seized a “large quantity” of drugs this week.

Police say officers checked a vehicle parked under the Hilyard Street overpass shortly after 8:30 a.m. Monday.

They say a 28-year-old man and a 36-year-old woman in the vehicle were arrested for drug offences.

Jacob Byers and Dezerai Jordana have been charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking and violating their probation orders.

They were released on a judge’s order until their next court appearance, according to police.
