22 Firefighters battled the blaze and Platoon Chief Eric Garland says no one was in the building at the time of the fire.
When they arrived on the scene, fire crews discovered the fire traveling up the walls coming from the first floor of the three-storey building and it required the walls to be opened up.
Garland says at this point, he doesn’t believe the fire made it to the roof.
He says a number of pets were safely removed including a couple of dogs and a few kittens.
