Lieutenant Governor Jocelyne Roy Vienneau making her fourth trip to Saint John since late October to help Police Chief Bill Reid in handing out service medals to 9 Saint John police officers.
Inspector Cy Thompson receiving his 30 years of service bar telling us collectively all these members have been in policing for 250 years.
He calls policing a vocation saying it’s something you are called to.
He says every member here today is a deserving recipient adding they are people of integrity.
Thompson adds they appreciate having the Lieutenant-Governor come down to spend time with them.
Others recipients include Constable Greg Lenihan, Sergeant Jeff LaFrance and Constable Darren Milburn.
Today’s other recipeints are Constable Geoff MacDonald, Constable Bruce Weston, Deputy Chief Bruce Connell, Sergeant Glen Hayward and Retired Constable Trevor Jones. Deputy Chief Bruce Connell retires at the end of this month.
