VIDEO: Police Respond To Brawl At The Lord Beaverbrook Rink

Heavy police presence last night at the Lord Beaverbrook Rink after a brawl broke out between fans and players during a Junior B hockey game.

Sergeant Steve Wilson says the call came in around 930 pm.

Roughly 800 people attended the game and Wilson says police arrived to find a large fight going on.

Wilson says the situation calmed down when police arrived.

There was one report of an assault and Wilson says the matter is currently under investigation.

Officer Charles Breen says fans were taunting players by throwing things at them while they were in the penalty box.

Players and fans started to fight and officers broke it up, and stayed on the scene until both teams left the building.

Breen says no injuries occured and no charges will be laid.

The Southern Sting beat the Grand Lake Moose 4-2 and have advanced to the New Brunswick Junior Hockey League finals.
