Wanted Man Arrested In Chipman

Saint John police say a man wanted on a Canada-wide warrant was arrested in Chipman on Monday.

Police issued a warrant for Dylan Thornton on Nov. 29 for allegedly breaching the conditions of his statutory release.

The 27-year-old is serving a sentence of more than 27 months on several charges, including:

  • one count of assaulting a peace officer
  • two counts of obstructing a peace officer
  • one count of dangerous operation
  • one count of flight while pursued by a peace officer
  • one count of unauthorized possession of a prohibited/restricted weapon
  • one count of possession of a weapon contrary to a prohibition order
  • one count of possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000
  • one count of public mischief – false report
  • seven counts of failing to comply with a probation order
  • one count of failing to attend court
