Beware of receiving a phone call from someone claiming they’re calling on behalf of the National Do Not Call List operator. The Canadian Radio-Television Telecommunications Commission warns they’re not.
They’re also falsely displaying or spoofing the National Do Not Call toll-free phone number which will show up if you have the call display feature on your phone.
They claim your telephone number is about to expire and must be re-registered over the phone. The C-R-T-C says there’s no need to re-register and you’re being warned not to give out any of your personal information over the phone.
