UPDATE: Water Leak In West Side Apartment Building

Three people had to find somewhere else to stay Saturday night after a water leak in a west Saint John apartment building.

Roy Byers, acting platoon chief with the Saint John Fire Department said they were called to the 100 block St. John Street around 7:15 p.m. Saturday.

Byers said the water leak affected the electrical system in the multi-unit building.

The Canadian Red Cross says it arranged emergency lodging and meals for one woman; another woman and a man made their own arrangements.

The organization says a frozen water pipe burst on the top floor of the three-storey apartment building, impacting one side of the six-unit structure.

No word on how long the three tenants will be out of their homes.
