Water Levels Expected To Rise In Aftermath Of Storm

Even though the storm has passed, the threat of flooding has not.

The Emergency Water levels in streams, tributaries and rivers will increase steadily well into the weekend according to the latest warning from the New Brunswick Emergency Measures Organisation.

Water levels remain high on the Kennebecasis River and and are forecast to exceed flood stage this morning in the Apohaqui area.

Water levels on the Nashwaak River are also high and are forecast to be near flood stage this morning.

Local officials are keeping a close eye on the water levels on the Magaguadavic and Canaan Rivers which are high as well.

The worst flooding occurred in Moncton. Provincial officials say if you’re headed that way, you should check their road conditions website beforehand or dial 511.
