Water Levels Going Down

River Watch reports water levels in the St. John River basin are slowly decreasing.

Water levels have dropped below flood stage in Fredericton and Maugerville with no major weather systems forecast over the next 48 hours but we are expecting rain Sunday night into Monday.

In Jemseg, Grand Lake and Sheffield-Lakeville Corner, water levels are expected to remain above flood stage for at least the rest of the week.

As the water has receded a bit, a lane of traffic is now open on either end of Darling’s Island road.
