Water levels in the Quispamsis-Saint John region are now sitting at 5.64 metres and things are still only expected to get worse.
The updated forecast for the St. John River shows that the floodwaters will continue creeping up until peaking on Tuesday at 5.8 metres before slowly dropping down in the following days to 5.6 on Wednesday and 5.3 on Thursday.
Flood stage for this part of the St. John River is 4.2 metres. In 2008, water levels hit 5.2 metres and in 1973 they were at 5.31.
