Watermain break closes Main Street west in Saint John

A watermain break has forced the closure of part of Main Street west in Saint John.

The City said the section between Church Avenue to Walnut Street West is shut down while crews carry out repairs.

Barricades and signage have been set up to redirect traffic.

The City is asking drivers to avoid the area to help keep people safe.

Saint John Water said customers in the area may experience reduced pressure while the work continues.

The City added that crews are monitoring the situation, and updates will be posted online.
