Uptown Saint John is a bit of a ghost town in the blizzard except for the folks in radio and emergency services.
The Wave’s Dan Coulton and Lori Carle attempted to leave but couldn’t get past Crown street due to the terrible drifting.
Carle tells CHSJ News they planned to avoid the highway listening to the warnings from the RCMP.
She says because of the drifting it looks like bare road then you come across a big drift.
She adds that its affecting those driving cars but there are some good samaritans pushing cars out of the snow.
Carle says they are going to stay put uptown and heed the warnings that they have been passing out to their listeners.
