In the Majors, Xander Bogaerts had three hits with Hanley Ramirez, Sandy Leon and Jackie Bradley Jr. all adding two RBI’s as the Boston Red Sox scored 8 runs in the 5th inning en route to a 10-4 win over St. Louis. The Red Sox also managed a triple play….The New York Yankees kept pace with Sonny Gray outpitching Jacob deGrom. Jacoby Ellsbury and Gary Sanchez each homered for the Yankees in a 5-4 win over the New York Mets…..The Toronto Blue Jays lost to Tampa Bay 6-4. Giancarlo Stanton of the Miami Marlins hit his 44th homer of the season. He has now homered in 6 straight games.

Anthony Stella has been named assistant general manager of the Saint John Sea Dogs. He was the director of player development with the team last year and he’s been a Montreal-area scout for the Sea Dogs for the last three seasons.

R-B-C has donated $10 thousand to the Greater Saint John Field House Project at Exhibition Park. Construction is expected to begin late this year and be open for use in the fall of 2019.

LeBron James called for healing in the wake of last weekend’s violent protests in Charlottesville, Virginia and also took a swipe at Donald Trump calling him the so-called President of the United States. James earlier tweeted hate has always existed in America but Donald Trump has made it fashionable again.
