Wednesday Morning Sports For July 26th

Infielder Eduardo Nunez was traded by the San Francisco Giants to the Boston Red Sox for two minor league pitchers……The Red Sox lost to Seattle in 13 innings, 6-5……The New York Yankees downed Cincinnati 4-2 to move just one game back of Boston in the American League East. Newly acquired Todd Frazier, in his first time at bat for the Yankees, hit into a run scoring triple play….It was Tampa Bay over Baltimore 5-4 with the Rays now just 2 and a half games back of the Red Sox….The Toronto Blue Jays defeated Oakland 4-1.

In the National League, the Chicago Cubs are just a half game back of Milwaukee in the Central Division after a 7-2 win over the Chicago White Sox. The Brewers blanked Washington 8-0.

In other play, it was Houston 5 Philadelphia 0…..Cleveland 11 Los Angeles Angels 7 (11 innings)….Kansas City 3 Detroit 1….Texas 10 Miami 4….St. Louis 3 Colorado 2…..Atlanta 8 Arizona 3…..NY Mets 6 San Diego 5….Los Angeles Dodgers 6 Minnesota 2 and San Francisco 11 Pittsburgh 3.
