Wednesday Morning Sports For March 25th

In the NHL, Ryan Ellis bounced a puck past Carey Price for the tying goal in the third period and then Filip Forsberg scored a power-play goal at 1:54 of overtime as Nashville rallies to edge the Canadiens 3-2….Los Angeles beats the Rangers 4-2 while Winnipeg lost to Vancouver 5-2….The Kings trail the Jets by just two points for the final playoff spot in the West…..St. Louis got by Pittsburgh in overtime 3-2….Tampa Bay downed Florida 4-3……Former Sea Dog Jonathon Huberdeau scored his 12th goal of the season for the Panthers…..Arizona edged Detroit in overtime 5-4 and Columbus knocked off Anaheim 5-3.

The Saint John Sea Dogs celebrating their 10th anniversary season, handing out hardware to its players. Nathan Noel won three awards including Fan’s Choice. Goaltender Sebastien Auger won the MVP award for the third straight year which is a first in the history of the team. Thomas Chabot and Jakub Zboril shared the Tops Defenseman Award. Luke Green was named rookie of the year and captain Mark Tremaine won the Team Player Award.

In the NBA, the Raptors lost to Detroit 108-104 and Golden State clinched its first division title since 1976 with a 122-108 win over Portland.
