The New York Yankees rallied behind a home run by Aaron Judge for a 6-4 win over Houston to tie up the American League championship at two games each. Gary Sanchez drove in 2 runs and Judge also drove in another as the Yankees scored 4 runs in the bottom of the 8th inning. Game five goes tonight with Masahiro Tanaka starting for the Yankees against Dallas Keuchel for Houston…..In the National League championship, Yu Darvish pitched into the seventh inning and Chris Taylor homered again as the Los Angeles Dodgers beat the Chicago Cubs 6-1 to take a 3 games to nothing lead. Game four will be played tonight with Alex Wood pitching for Los Angeles against Jake Arrieta for the Cubs.
In the NHL, Frederik Andersen made 30 saves for the shutout as the Toronto Maple Leafs blanked Washington 2-0…..Logan Couture scored a pair of goals in San Jose’s 5-2 win over Montreal who have just one win so far…..Sidney Crosby tied the score with less than a minute remaining in regulation time and Evgeni Malkin scored the winner 58 seconds into overtime as Pittsburgh got by the New York Rangers 5-4 who have won just once so far this season…..Elsewhere, it was Philadelphia 5 Florida 1…Vancouver 3 Ottawa 0…..New Jersey 5 Tampa Bay 4 in a shootout…..Nashville 4 Colorado 1….Columbus 5 Winnipeg 2…..Dallas 3 Arizona 1……Carolina 5 Edmonton 3 and Las Vegas over Buffalo in overtime 5-4 to improve to 5 and 1.
A former Saint John minor hockey coach is facing charges of child luring and sexual assault. 42 year old Scott Geikie will reappear in court November 21st. Geikie coached the Saint John Major Bantam AAA“ Seadogs and is a former president of the Saint John Youth Minor Hockey Association.
Through the first six weeks of the NFL season, total viewership of games is down 7.5 percent compared with the first six weeks of 2016.
