The Major League playoffs starting out with a bang as Salvador Perez singles home the winning run with two outs in the 12th inning, capping two late comebacks that gave Kansas City a thrilling 9-8 victory over the Oakland A’s in the American League wild card game. The Royals will now face the Los Angeles Angels and Baltimore will take on Detroit in the other Division series.
Tonight, the National League wildcard will be played with San Francisco at Pittsburgh.

The Saint John Mill Rats will be offering a free youth training program for the month of October at the Boys & Girls Club in Saint John beginning on Wednesday October 1st at 7:30PM, sponsored by the Boys & Girls Club of Saint John. The lead instructor for the program will new Mill Rats point guard 6’2 Jabs Newby and 6’6 All Star power forward Kenny Jones. The program is for boys and girls ages 8-18.
