West Side Ratepayers Association Group Formed Over Water Problems

A group has been formed on the west side with the purpose of sending this message to Common Council: fix this water fiasco now.

It’s called the West Side Ratepayers Association and a steering committee has been formed to be proactive on the issue.

The Interim Chair is former Saint John mayor Ivan Court who tells us they have already started working on the problem.

“We’re looking for experts that know about what’s going to happen to our heating water and so on and if it breaks again,” says Court.

Court says ideally they’d like to see a water softener installed by the city at the source of the water supply.

“That would be one of the things they should be doing right off the bat,” says Court.

Court says he has personally had seven pipes break in his home since the water supply was shifted last September.

The association is planning another meeting in three weeks times and has formed a Facebook page.
