WestJet flight makes emergency landing at Greater Moncton airport

No injuries have been reported after a WestJet flight made an emergency landing at the Greater Moncton Roméo LeBlanc International Airport.

The flight was en route from Calgary to Moncton on Sunday afternoon when a “mechanical abnormality” was noted, according to an airline spokesperson.

Josh Yeats told our newsroom in an email that emergency vehicles met the aircraft upon arrival but were not needed.

A spokesperson for the airport said their rescue team was prepared to respond, along with municipal emergency response partners.

Lauren Guitard said the plane landed safely at the airport at around 5:15 p.m. Sunday.
