Wilno Violence Highlights Need For Take Back the Night March

After the shocking violence in Wilno, Ontario this week, domestic violence is very top of mind this week.

Several Saint John groups are coming together tonight for the annual Take Back the Night march.

It begins at 730pm tonight at the Community Health Centre on Coburg Street and continues to Loyalist Plaza at Market Square.

The march itself is limited to women and children to demostrate the unity and solidarity of women working towards breaking the silence of violence against women.

The Take Back the Night march began in England in 1977 as a protest against the violence and fear women felt walking at night.
