Woman charged in fatal Charlotte County crash

Charges have been laid after a fatal collision involving a pedestrian in Charlotte County.

First responders were called to a crash on Route 170 in Oak Bay around 5:20 a.m. on Sept. 1.

RCMP said a 36-year-old man from St. Stephen was struck by a vehicle and died at the scene from his injuries.

The driver was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries while the two passengers were not physically hurt.

A woman was later arrested in connection with the incident, RCMP said in a news release at the time.

A 25-year-old woman from Oak Bay has since been charged with dangerous conveyance of a motor vehicle causing death.

She was released on strict conditions, including house arrest, and is scheduled to return to court on Friday.
