Woman injured in Sussex hit-and-run

Mounties are looking for a vehicle they say struck a pedestrian and fled the scene in Sussex.

It happened at Maple Avenue and Stewart Avenue between 5:20 and 5:40 p.m. on Dec. 18.

The victim was walking eastbound on Maple Avenue and tried to cross the street when she was struck.

Investigators said the vehicle was also believed to be travelling eastbound at the time of the incident.

A 36-year-old woman was taken to the hospital with injuries and later released.

Police are working to identify the suspect vehicle, which is described as a light-coloured SUV or minivan.

Investigators are looking to speak with anyone who saw the collision, or has dash-cam or local security footage.
