Woodstock Power Company Heads To U.S To Assist After Hurricane Irma Strike

A New Brunswick power company is offering crews who will help repair damages in Florida, after Hurricane Irma has come and gone.

21 crews, 4 supervisors, a couple of mechanics and a safety officer from K Line Construction in Woodstock, are currently on the road, on their way to Georgia.

Manager Courtney Keenan says that is where they will be staying as they ride out the storm, “Once the storm passes, the utility crews will begin strategically moving into the most heavily damaged area to start the rebuild.”

Keenan says, “There is one thing that is very gratifying for the crews. The really get a lot of satisfaction when people come out and tell them thank you. The boys when to South Carolina last year after Hurricane Matthew, and they say, everything you’ve heard about southern hospitality is 100 per cent true.”

There’s no word on when the crews will be returning to New Brunswick. Keenan says it all depends on how much work needs to be done.
