Woodstock’s deputy mayor is hoping to branch out into provincial politics.
Amy Anderson has been acclaimed as the Green candidate for the riding of Carleton in the fall election.
Party leader David Coon says adding her experience as a municipal councillor and Deputy Mayor will enable her to serve the people of Carleton County the day after she is elected.

Anderson says she’s excited to run for the Green Party because they believe in grassroots democracy and local economic development.
She says over the past 14 years as a self-employed person, Deputy Mayor and volunteer, she has seen the needs of the community and she’s ready to work hard for the people of Carleton.
PC MLA Stewart Fairgrieve is the incumbent for the riding.
