World Under-17 Hockey Challenge Coming To Saint John And Quispamsis

It’s a big sporting announcement for the Greater Saint John area with Hockey Canada announcing the World Under-17 Hockey Challenge will take place next November.

The City of Saint John and The Town of Quispmasis will be co-hosting the event and Hockey Canada’s Jeff Beck says they had a world class bid and Quispamsis did such a good job with the Telus Cup they are confident the event will be well organized.

The Chairman of the Organizing Committee Aaron Kennedy says this will give people a chance to see the stars of the future from three Canadian teams,the United States, Russia, Finland, Sweden and the Czech Republic, a total of 66 players.

The event is slated for next November over a 12 day period and it is expected to generate up to $6 million in economic spinoffs over the time frame.
