Youth arrested after fight outside Blacks Harbour hockey rink

RCMP say a youth has been arrested after a fight outside of a high school hockey game in Charlotte County.

Members of the St. George RCMP detachment were called to a hockey rink in Blacks Harbour around 9:15 p.m. Friday.

“Two youths who were attending a high school hockey game had reportedly gotten into an altercation, and one of the youths stuck the other in the head with a hockey stick a number of times,” RCMP said in a news release on Wednesday.

A 15-year-old was arrested at a St. George residence later that evening. They are scheduled to appear in court at a later date.

Police said the victim was taken to the hospital with what were believed to be non-life-threatening injuries.

Anyone who witnessed the altercation or who has information that could help with the investigation is asked to contact St. George RCMP at 506-755-1130 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
