Hey Saint John! Here’s a quick wrap up of last weekend, June 1/2 and what to look forward to this weekend, June 7-9!
I kicked off Saturday with two fishing derbies back to back. The Glen Carpenter centre was hosting their annual YMCA fishing derby, and Rockwood Park was hosting theirs with the support of Kiwanis.
Next up was the Pawlooza at Kent Theatre uptown. This is SJ’s only 100% non-profit pet vendor event. It was a great spot to hang around for a while. I even got to pet some of the doggies!
The next big event was way out at Yip Cider in Long Reach. The Outdoor Outdoor Film Festival was an absolute treat. The location is gorgeous, the event is put on by the best local shakers and movers I know, and the films were obviously incredible. Not to mention sweet tunes played by Sl0wcoaster at the intermission and afterwards. I personally cannot wait to see what stories will be told next year at OOFF.
After all the excitement on Saturday, Sunday was nice and relaxed. I popped by my new favourite farmers market: Loch Lomond Farmers Market which is in the same lot as Loch Lomond Home Hardware. I highly recommend going to see what they’ve got every Sunday 12-5 because the vendors are such a nice crowd with great stuff for sale. There are tasty hot dogs, fresh doughnuts, fancy slushies, jewelry, super soft crocheted goods, and a heck of a lot more! Go check it out and bathe in the glory of not having to circle around 50 times to find parking.
Of course, I made my first stop at New River Beach. Thank you to the owner of the restaurant for letting me look super cool and special by pulling up on the grass.
