Zero Fatality Tour Coming To Saint John High School This Week

A St. Stephen man is bringing his message about making the right choices behind the wheel to Saint John High School on Wednesday morning.

John Westhaver was in a horrific car crash back on April 29, 1994 which killed three of his high school friends and left him with burns on 75 percent of his body. He started the Zero Fatality Tour of the Maritimes last year in hopes of ending preventable car crashes in Canada.

Westhaver says he doesn’t lecture the teens, instead he takes them through his accident and recovery experience in hopes they make the right choices on their own to avoid speeding, drinking and driving or distracted driving.

He says his tour is going well and plenty of the teens thank him afterwards and he says that is very rewarding to him. He will also speak in Cambridge-Narrows on Thursday.
