10 seafood companies from New Brunswick are going to be showcasing their wares this week in Asia, as a way to try and increase their export sales in Asian markets.
The companies are visiting China and Taiwan and one of the events that they will be attending is the China Fisheries and Seafood Expo, Asia’s largest seafood expo and the second-largest in the world attracting about 28,000 visitors.
The province says last year New Brunswick was the second-largest exporting province for fish and seafood in Canada at over $1.6-billion which is a 30 percent increase since 2014.
43 companies in total from the Atlantic region are attending these export shows.
