Saint John firefighters help dog return to safety

A daring rescue for the Saint John firefighters.

They were dispatched Sunday night for a dog that had fallen over a cliff in Lorneville.

After assessing the situation, crews set up a rope rescue system to safely get to the distressed animal.

A firefighter on a harness, secured with lines, was lowered to the dog’s location.

The firefighters say the dog was frightened but doing okay and has been returned to its owners.
