3 Municipalities Elect New Councillors

The results are in from Monday’s byelections in 17 municipalities across New Brunswick.

In the southern portion of the province, single council seats were filled in St. George, Saint Andrews and Sussex Corner.

Jenna Murray was elected in St. George, defeating candidate Gil Breau by 11 votes.

In Saint Andrews, Catherine Akagi defeated candidates Brian Usher, Pat Mann and Charles Creaser.

And in Sussex Corner, Paul Taylor received 71 more votes than Gil Stackhouse.

Elections New Brunswick says overall voter turnout was about 20 per cent.
